Mixed Metophor

Our first major collection, it celebrates India with its colours, flowery motifs, mirror-work and appliqué work and the use of diverse materials mixed together in harmonious forms. Its main source of inspiration came from brightly, sometimes gaudily coloured temples and buildings strewn all over our extensive landscape. Deeply nostalgic, it also references an imagined Bollywood of 50’s and 60’s. So here you will find rani pink sitting comfortably with parrot green and yellows and oranges coming together with silver and gold(in some pieces) to evoke memories of happier times – as in the hoardings and posters of yester-year cinema. The ‘Mixed metaphor’ collection combines classic design with modern sensibilities. The distinctive pieces of furniture, home accessories, chests and trunks have served as inspirations for many of our future collections.
