Shipping and Delivery Policy

When the Order is placed on the Website, for the ‘Available’ items, we usually dispatch the same within 3 working days of the order placed. For the rest of the items, the product will be dispatched within 5-6 weeks after the order placed. Delivery time will depend on the distance and place of your location which may vary from place to place.

The Items are delivered between Monday to Saturday. Once your shipment is ready for dispatch, you will be notified via email.

You may also get a call from the Courier Company/ Logistics partner confirming the tentative date and the time of delivery. However, as we do not have any direct control over the courier partners/ logistics partner, we cannot guarantee that they will act only in certain manner or will necessarily call before getting your order for delivery.

For the safety of the goods during the transit and unpredictable and multiple handling at times, we secure most of the goods with wooden crates. We understand that these crates make the packaging bulky, however they are absolutely necessary for securing the product. These crates may cause some inconvenience to the customer but are unavoidable.

We are using different logistical partners for delivering your product depending on your location and product. For the products weighing above 25 KG and in wooden crates, our delivery person will deliver the products inside your home. They will also unpack the goods and remove the packing materials if you wish to do so. This service is available till 3rd Floor of the building if there is no lift facility is available for the furniture. The above facility is not available for products weighing less than 25 KG. If you have any queries/ concerns regarding delivery of your shipment please contact sales@portsidecafe.com before placing the order. Company has the right to use any logistical partner without any prior notice.

The delivery personnel are not directly employed with PortsideCafe and in no way concerned with product and its details. You are also requested to cooperate with the delivery person for the smooth delivery of the products. We are not responsible for any kind of altercation and /or losses through the logistical partners. 

Any defect or damage must be reported to the delivery person and to our customer care immediately or within 24 hours of delivery of the product. The description of defect / damage should be mentioned on the Challan/ Proof of Delivery (POD). You are also requested to send us images of such damages/manufacturing defect to our email sales@portsidecafe.com. Please note a replacement/refund will be initiated only if the report received from your registered email ID.  Please note that the delivery person is not directly employed with PortsideCafe.  You are requested to cooperate with them for the smooth delivery. We highly recommend that somebody responsible will be present at the time of delivery.

Furniture that is refused because it does not fit through an entryway will be customer’s responsibility as we encourage to study the sizes mentioned on the product page carefully and see if the furniture you order fits into your entryway and rooms. We will not be responsible if the furniture does not fit/ pass through the entry way/ stairway etc. Please note that any failed delivery due to any such refusal or unavailability and any subsequent attempts to deliver the goods will be charged extra by PortsideCafe or the Logistics partner. We are not responsible for any damages arising out of not clearing the pathways. We also request you to give correct address and phone number and other details, if any, at the time of placing the order. If you are planning to travel and will be unavailable on the contact number, please inform us in advance so that we can plan the shipping and delivery as per your convenience with applicable holding cost. 

Please note that we reserve the right not to deliver an order if we believe the address is not secure, for example to a communal postal address or PO Box. If this affects an order you place, we'll notify you as soon as possible.

We will not be responsible if our logistical personal are denied entry into your premises/house due to reasons like laws of societies, RWA, etc. In this case we will deliver the product till where the delivery person authorized to enter. Unpacking and removal of the packing materials in this case will be the responsibility of the customer.

On rare occasions, some items may be delivered outside the published timed windows due to unavoidable circumstances.

HOLDING COST or DELAYED DELIVERY CHARGES

  • Holding Cost will be applicable to your order if the order is ready for dispatch but has been withheld in our warehouse on your request. 
  • A holding charge is also applied if the goods reached the warehouse of the transporter and there it held up on your request.
  • We offer a grace period of 2 weeks to hold your order in our warehouse; in the event of your non-availability to accept the order delivery, post this a ‘Holding Cost’ or ‘Delayed Delivery Cost’ will be applicable to your total order value on actual daily basis.
  • We will notify you via an e-mail with a detailed breakup of the charges levied (on a monthly basis) and/or bill you pro-rata for the number of days (in case its less than a month that the order delivery has been withheld on your request)
  • The ‘Holding Cost’ is calculated at the rate of 1% of the total value of the order or Rs. 300.00 whichever is higher. 18% GST is applicable on this holding cost. The same policy will also be applicable for partial orders withheld in our facility on your request.
  • The “Holding Cost” have to be paid for, before we dispatch your order(s) from our warehouse.

Typically, you will get a call from the Courier Company/ Logistics partner confirming the tentative date and the time of delivery. However, as we do not have any direct control over the courier partners/ logistics partner, we cannot guarantee that they will act only in certain manner or will necessarily call before getting your order for delivery. We also request you to give correct address and phone no. details at the time of placing the order. If you are planning to travel and you will be unavailable on the contact number given earlier, please inform us in advance so that we can plan the shipping and delivery as per your convenience with applicable holding cost.
